About the role
Are you a passionate wine enthusiast with exceptional customer service skills? As the Cellar Door Manager at Derwent Estate Wines, you'll have the opportunity to share your love of wine with visitors to our picturesque Tasmanian winery. In this full-time role based 25 minutes from the Hobart CBD, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of our cellar door operations, ensuring guests receive an unforgettable wine tasting experience.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the daily operations of the cellar door, including staff supervision, customer service, and sales
- Develop and implement strategies to drive cellar door visitation and sales
- Provide knowledgeable and engaging wine tastings, educating customers on the unique characteristics of our premium wines
- Manage inventory, stock control, and financial reporting for the cellar door
- Collaborate with the winemaking team to ensure the cellar door showcases our latest releases and seasonal offerings
- Contribute to the planning and execution of events and tastings to promote the Derwent Estate brand
- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors to the cellar door
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar cellar door or hospitality management role
- Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, production methods, and the Australian wine industry
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate customers
- Strong organisational and financial management skills, with experience in inventory control and reporting
- Sound experience in wine club management
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a team
- Passion for the Tasmanian wine industry and a desire to showcase our premium products.
