The Opportunity:
We're seeking a highly driven and passionate Business Development Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in growing our On-Premise and International Hotel sales within the vibrant Melbourne wine scene.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets for assigned accounts in Melbourne
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at restaurants, bars, and hotels, becoming a trusted advisor on our wine portfolio and to the clients business as a whole
- Conduct regular account reviews, identify sales opportunities, and tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of each client
- Present and promote The Saint Wine portfolio effectively, ensuring in-depth product knowledge and our brands stories
- Negotiate pricing and contracts, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives
- Oversee the implementation of successful wine list placements and promotional activities within accounts
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify new business opportunities in the on-premise sector
- Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with industry General Managers, Food and Beverage Directors, Sommeliers and Industry Influencers
- Prepare comprehensive sales reports and participate in sales team meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years‘ experience in B2B sales within the wine and beverage industry
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong client relationships in the on-premise sector
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
- Deep understanding of the Melbourne On-Premise scene, including current trends and customer preferences
- Extensive knowledge of varieties, regions, and styles, with a passion for the industry
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organisational skills

This position reports to the Victoria State Manager, and is based in and around Melbourne.
