About the role
Reporting to the General Manager - Chains, this role will create value via building relationships with key stakeholders within the operational functions of our retail partners, to ensure we are seen as the Ultimate Wine Partner in the retail channel.
You will work in partnership with the National Chains Team, communicate and support the execution of the previously negotiated promotional opportunities at the store level. Coordinate and execute a structured staff engagement and consumer tasting program focused on education and storytelling.
Key tasks include
- Basic store engagement – promotional compliance, planogram compliance, stock rotation and competitor activity.
- Staff training engagements targeting key staff members, for example Dan Murphy Wine Merchants.
- Consumer tasting engagements.
- Actively build key relationships with the customer's team at the store level including for example Area Manager, Store Managers, Wine Merchants and Floor Staff.
- Direct selling of lines that are in optional ranging across the store networks.
- Influencing store staff via relationships to secure incremental placement opportunities.
- Amplification of in-store selling events and category wide activations.
About you
This role will suit a self-motivated candidate, someone with demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills who can work across a diverse stakeholder group.
Experience in retail liquor hospitality, wine tasting, or wine education is preferred and you must be comfortable with presenting to small groups with the ability to conduct a structured tasting and engage with consumers and brand owners.
A high level of Wine knowledge and/or wine education credentials with WSET Level 2 is preferred as well as an understanding of the principals of promotional programs to drive volume and value.
A current valid Driver’s Licence is essential for the role.
