Mt Bera Vineyards is a family-owned vineyard and winery located between Cudlee Creek and Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills, approximately 40 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. The property features five vineyards spread across various hills and valleys along the picturesque Torrens Gorge. The significant temperature variations caused by the diverse topography allow for a wide range of grape varieties to be grown in close proximity. The estate encompasses about 160 hectares, including remnant bush, native plantings, and areas for sheep and cattle grazing,other crops, and with approximately 17 hectares currently under vine.
The winery is equipped with high-quality facilities, and a cellar door and restaurant operate on-site. We are seeking a motivated, focused, and passionate individual to join our team in producing wines of the highest quality. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on professional to showcase their viticultural and winemaking skills at a unique property in a beautiful location. This is a permanent, full-time position.
**Job Requirements**
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in both viticulture and winemaking.
**Viticulture:**
- Previous viticultural experience is required.
- Familiarity and confidence in using farming equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems are essential.
- A practical and enthusiastic approach is necessary.
- A passion for and understanding of organic, biological, and regenerative farming practices are preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work programs with attention to detail.
- Capacity to organize and supervise contract workers when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with spreadsheets, record-keeping, and preferably experience with production budgets.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred.
- Previous experience in winemaking operations from harvest to bottling. - A technical understanding of all aspects of winemaking would be an advantage.
- A clear vision for wine style and a connection to the vineyard.
- Ability to contribute to brand awareness through sales and marketing activities.
**Other Requirements:**
- A current driver's licence is necessary.
- Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa is required.
- Candidates should be fit and healthy, prepared to work in all weather conditions.
- Flexibility and readiness to work overtime during peak seasonal activities are essential. Wage/salary will be based on the successful applicant's experience and abilities.
