In this role at the Main & Cherry Cellar Door, you will be part of a dynamic, supportive team and can enjoy sweeping views across the lawns to the ocean as you serve and sell a range of delicious wines and food to guests. Our busy and vibrant cellar door operates five days a week, including weekends and some public holidays. If you have a passion for wine, a friendly disposition and a great attitude, this could be the role for you.
The Basics:
You will support the Cellar Door Manager in the running of our Cellar Door, including wine tastings and retail wine sales.
This role is a hands-on customer service position, with most of your time spent engaging with customers, being the face of the brand and leading staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Cellar Door Manager, including leadership of the cellar door and staff team in their absence.
- Working approx 20-25 hours/week, across a five day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Meeting KPI’s set by management.
- Implement strategies to build the wine club.
- Driving wine sales in line with monthly and annual targets.
- Conducting wine tastings and wine flights to individuals, groups and trade visitors.
- Sales and promotion of our wine club, called the Cherry Club.
- Managing and organising events and functions from their initial enquiry, through managing the day and follow up.
- Assisting with new staff training when required.
- Stock control, including occasional ordering and receiving of goods.
- Assisting management with the development and implementation of sales strategies.
You will bring:
- At least 3-5 years of hospitality experience.
- A current RSA.
- Punctuality, good time keeping and time management.
- The ability to create amazing guest experiences and put guests first.
- A passion for wine and a strong desire to share your enthusiasm with customers and staff.
- Extensive wine knowledge, including wines of the world and wine making processes.
- The ability to make coffee to a high standard and carry three plates.
- Strong communication skills with both customers and staff.
- Self-motivation.
- The ability to close a sale.
- Proven planning and problem solving skills, including conflict resolution
- Organised attention to detail and a "can do" attitude.
- Computer literacy, including working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and NowBookIt reservations systems.
- Knowledge of the Lightspeed POS system.
- A good grasp of social media.
- The ability to operate Apple devices with confidence and ease.
