Description
Stefano Lubiana Wines is a family owned and operated biodynamic winery located in the Derwent Valley region, 25 minutes north of Hobart, Tasmania.
We are seeking a full-time Cellarhand to join our winery team, commencing in January, continuing throughout harvest/vintage (from February to April) and ongoing.
The successful applicants will be involved in a wide range of cellar operations and will need to be energetic, enthusiastic and reliable with a high attention to detail for an ongoing position at our dynamic workplace.
The cellar operations and range of tasks including the following:-
- Work with a multitude of varieties, all from our estate grown vineyards.
- Fruit receival & processing/crushing operations.
- Pressing operations.
- Small batch fermentation and working with a whole bunch wines.
- Operation of pumps, perform wine transfers, rackings and ferment management.
- General cellar hygiene operations.
- Oak/barrel work.
- Bottling and packaging operations.
- Disgorging and tirage process.
- Product dispatch/receival from our warehouse.
A minimum two year fine wine cellar experience is required. Some of the key job requirements include:-
- Positive personality, desire to be a part of a team and enjoyment/pride in what they do for work.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- High attention to detail in crafting fine wines.
- Ability to work vintage hours.
- A desire to learn and participate in our biodynamic practices.
- An understanding of winery work health and safety.
- Forklift license (essential)
- Confined space license (desirable)
- Responsible service of alcohol RSA (desirable)
- All applicants must have Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (essential)
