Job Description

We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Winemaker – Bottling & Production to join our team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the winemaking & production departments by:
- Sensory assessment of all wines – pre-purchase and pre & post-bottling
- Organising the bulk wine freight movements in accordance with the production schedule
- Working with our Third Party Bottling facilities to ensure wines are prepared to bottling specifications
- Coordinating bench blending, additions, fining trials, etc
- Collecting, recording and maintaining accurate data in our Winery Management Software
- Monitoring Laboratory analysis, and acting on results as required
- Aid in the operations of our onsite small-batch winery
The role is a full-time, permanent position based at our office and winery in McLaren Vale
Job Requirements
- A tertiary degree in Winemaking/Oenology (or currently undertaking study)
- A thorough understanding of Wine Australia’s Compliance Guide, including the Label Integrity Program (LIP), blending rules and export market compliance.
- Have a sound understanding of Australian wine styles
- Experience working in a winery or cellar environment
- Outstanding time management and clear communication skills
- The ability to work well both autonomously and within a team
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with EzyWine will be highly regarded
